The Florida Gators baseball team continues to bolster its roster through the transfer portal with the addition of Ole Miss sophomore infielder Ethan Surowiec.
As a freshman in 2025, Surowiec batted .375 with two home runs and eight RBIs. Despite limited opportunity with the Rebels with only 16 at bats, Surowiec has flourished in the summer with the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods League.
In 96 at bats with the Huskies, he held a .427 batting average while adding seven home runs and 36 RBIs.
Surowiec ranked as the 89th overall prospect and 7th overall third-baseman in the 2024 recruiting class according to Perfect Game. He was a two-time All-State selection in Mississippi, and batted .375 with nine home runs during his senior campaign at Gulfport High School.
Surowiec brings versatility to Florida’s infield, as he played first base, third base, shortstop and right field for Duluth in the summer. He will have three years of eligibility remaining, but will be eligible for the draft following his sophomore season.
Surowiec is the ninth addition to the Gators through the portal, and the third over the last three days. Florida added former Lenoir-Rhyne catcher Cole Stanford and former Columbia shortstop Sam Miller on Saturday.
