Florida Gymnastics has elevated associate head coach Owen Field to general manager, the university announced on Tuesday. Field’s promotion to general manager marks the creation of the first gymnastics general manager position in the NCAA.
Field joined the Gators in 2016 after six years with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. In 2024, he became the associate head coach of UF Gymnastics. Now, in his 11th season with the Gators, Field is expanding his position to an all-encompassing role that focuses on program operations.
The new general manager has captured six conference titles in the SEC and has witnessed the Gators make the NCAA Team Final seven times.
Name, image and likeness and player development will become a part of Field’s daily focus as he continues to expand his role as a leader for the program.
Field was previously responsible for coaching uneven bars, aiding in conditioning and recruiting, helping maintain equipment, dealing with match day logistics, and social media content creation. He will continue to serve in those roles on top of acting as the program’s general manager.
