Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin inked a three-year extension Friday, per Swamp247.
The contract details are yet to be announced as the university has not officially disclosed the news.
Stricklin was hired by Florida in November 2016 following former athletic director Jeremy Foley’s decision to step down. Since holding the position, 13 UF programs have earned titles in their respective sports.
Most recently, Florida men’s basketball won the 2025 NCAA National Championship under head coach Todd Golden, whom Stricklin hired in 2022.
In addition to the 13 championships, Stricklin has been at the helm for 45 conference honors.
Stricklin has seen 1,235 student athletes walk the graduation stage. Nearly 500 of the individuals won either a national or conference title during their time in the Sunshine State.
Additionally, Florida signed a partnership with Jordan Brand in 2017, becoming just the fourth program to represent the brand.
Stricklin experienced significant pushback during Florida football’s 2024 season. After beginning the year 4-4, Stricklin issued a public statement Nov. 7 backing his confidence in Gators head coach Billy Napier, who many fans have been critical of since his hiring in 2022.
“I wanted to let you know that Billy Napier will continue as head football coach of the Florida Gators,” Stricklin wrote. “I am confident that Billy will meet the challenges and opportunities ahead. We will work alongside him to support any changes needed to elevate Gator football.”
Now, the athletic director will watch as Gators football prepares to kick off the season against Long Island University at 7 p.m. Saturday.
