Florida vs. Louisiana State: Live updates

The Gators haven't won at Tiger Stadium since 2016.

The Florida Gators (1-1) face off against the No. 3 Louisiana State Tigers (2-0) at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Gators seek to recover from an 18-16 loss to South Florida, while the Tigers return home following a 23-6 victory against Louisiana Tech. Follow along for updates throughout the contest.

NOTABLE: The Gators allowed just one first down the entirety of the quarter. The Tigers have just 45-net yards.

END OF FIRST QUARTER: Florida 3, Louisiana State 0 

NOTABLE: Q1 | 1:30 - Florida has had three touchdowns called back in its last two games. It's scored just one touchdown across its last five quarters of play.

Q1 | 2:56 - Gators punt out of their own end zone and the ball is spotted at the UF-44 yard line.

CRUCIAL PENALTY : Q1 | 3:33 - DJ Lagway finds Jadan Baugh all alone upfield for an 87-yard touchdown. However, the play is called back due to a holding penalty on Gators offensive lineman Knijeah Harris.

Q1 | 5:07 -  Tigers Grant Chadwick punts it 58-yards down field and the ball will be spotted six yards out from the end zone after a three-yard return by Vernell Brown III. 

TURNOVER: Q1 | 5:55 - DJ Lagway lofts a pass to wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant, but the pass is intercepted by safety Dashawn Spears. Tigers take over on the LSU 38-yard line.

Q1 | 7:33 - Gators tight end Hayden Hansen is called for a 10-yard holding penalty on first down. It's now 1st-and-20 for Florida.

Q1  | 7:44 - Florida calls a timeout. The Gators just moved 17-yards upfield after an impressive catch-and-run by Jadan Baugh. Gators QB DJ Lagway had two uncontested rushers running at him and quickly found Baugh for the gain.

Q1 | 9:37 - This stadium is livid after a pass interference penalty was called against LSU defensive back Tamarcus Cooley. Florida moves to the 28-yard line.

Q1 | 10:15 - Tigers elect to punt from the 34-yard line on 4th-and-1. Vernell Brown III calls a fair catch and the Gators begin their next drive on the 21-yard line.

MADE KICK: Q1 | 11:20 - Florida kicker Trey Smack nails a 45-yarder to cap off the Gators' first offensive drive. Florida leads 3-0. 

EJECTION: Q1 | 12:33 -  LSU linebacker Whit Weeks was ejected from the contest for targeting. Florida moves 15-yards upfield to the LSU-44-yard line. Weeks is one of the Tigers' top linebackers and recorded over 100 combined tackles, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles last season.

Q1 | 12:33 - Vernell Brown III catches a 6-yard pass from DJ Lagway. The play is under review for a potential targeting penalty by LSU linebacker Whit Weeks. If confirmed, Weeks will be ejected from the contest.

Q1 | 14:01 - Tigers go three-and-out on the opening drive. Vernell Brown III returns it 29 yards upfield to the 39-yard line. Former Gators edge rusher Jack Pyburn made the tackle.

Coin Toss: Florida won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half. The Gators will defend the north end zone.

PREGAME: Neither team will be charged with an infraction despite a penalty flag being thrown during the second pregame scuffle.

Two scrums have broken out between the two opponents. Former Gators edge rusher Jack Pyburn was in the middle of the first scuffle. In the second, multiple referees and law enforcement had to break up the fight while a flag was thrown. No official announcement yet as to what the penalty entailed.

INJURY REPORT:  Notable names include Gators wide receiver Dallas Wilson, defensive lineman Michai Boireau and edge rusher LJ McCray.
