Alachua County Public Schools reached an agreement with teachers today regarding salary raises, according to a news release from the district.
Salary negotiations with the Alachua County Education Association, the union representing the district’s staff, started in late September.
The new contract consists of a 4% raise for all employees, which includes the about 1% raise most employees received at the beginning of this contract year, according to the news release.
The raise will apply to employees’ paychecks retroactively, and the districts’ goal is to approve it in time for their November paychecks, according to the news release.
Employees will meet on Oct. 29 to ratify the contract. If the employees agree on it, the contract will move on to a school board vote at its next meeting on Nov. 4.
