The Tennessee Volunteers are hiring Florida interim head coach and associate head coach Chuck Jeroloman as its associate head coach and recruiting coordinator, according to a report by Baseball America. Jeroloman was named Florida's interim head coach Oct. 22 after head coach Kevin O’Sullivan went on personal leave for an undisclosed reason.
Jeroloman served six seasons with the Gators and was promoted as associate head coach following Florida’s appearance in the 2024 College World Series. Last season, Florida’s offense slugged 94 home runs despite dealing with a myriad of injuries. That marked the seventh-highest total in team history.
Jeroloman guided multiple Gators to career-best seasons in 2025. Florida catcher Luke Heyman finished as a 2025 Buster Posey Award semifinalist and a First Team All-SEC honoree. Heyman slashed .301/.397/.578 across 49 games with 13 home runs, one triple, seven doubles, 44 RBI and 37 runs scored.
Infielders Bobby Boser and Brendan Lawson also solidified themselves as some of the top newcomers among Florida’s roster. The tandem combined for 28 home runs and 128 RBI.
Tennessee recently hired Josh Elander, replacing former head coach Tony Vitello, who was hired by the San Francisco Giants Oct. 22. Tennessee’s move reunites Jeroloman with Elander, who he coached at Texas Christian University in 2012.
Pitching coach David Kopp and assistant Taylor Black remain as Florida’s only full-time assistants. O’Sullivan is expected to return at some point before the 2026 season, though no precise timetable has been set.
