The University of Florida fired Gators soccer head coach Samantha Bohon on Wednesday, the team announced.
"After reviewing the direction of our soccer program, we determined that a change in leadership is necessary," athletic director Scott Stricklin said. "We appreciate Sam's commitment and wish her and her family well. Our priority now is identifying the right person to guide Gator soccer back to championship form."
Bohon just completed her fourth year as the program’s head coach, accumulating an 18-34-18 overall record, including a 5-23-12 record in Southeastern Conference play. The Gators made their first SEC Tournament appearance under Bohon in 2025, where they were eliminated in the first round by the Kentucky Wildcats 1-0.
Before being hired by Florida in 2022, Bohon spent 15 years coaching at Embry Riddle, leading the Eagles to four Sun Conference Tournament titles. After the team’s transition to NCAA II in 2017, Bohon led the program to two Sunshine State Tournament championship victories.
Florida will begin an immediate national search for their next head coach heading into the 2026 season.
