From heavy metal concerts to holiday festivities, every music lover can find an event to enjoy in town this week. Check out a roundup of some of the concerts and music events happening in Gainesville.

Tuesday, Nov. 18

Heartwood Soundstage: Pajama Jam at 7 p.m.

Gainesville bands Noise Next Door, Freudian Slip and Unscripted join together to raise money for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization dedicated to providing beds to children in need. Attendees are encouraged to wear their pajamas to the show. 

Wednesday, Nov. 19

Heartwood Soundstage: Ashes and Arrows with Kyle Keller at 7 p.m.

Country band Ashes and Arrows come to Gainesville with local folk artist Kyle Keller.

Thursday, Nov. 20 

Phillips Center: Sounds of the Season: Traditions at 7:30 p.m.

The UF School of Music presents a night of holiday music from itstheir concert choir, chamber singers and symphony orchestra.

The Wooly: Black Flag and The Queers at 7 p.m.

Punk act Black Flag comes to Gainesville, joined by New Hampshire punk band The Queers. 

Loosey’s: The Freudian Slip, Loose Change and Broken Joints at 8 p.m.

Broken Joints host their official album launch at this free concert.  

Heartwood Soundstage: The Krickets Album Release Show with Shiloh at 7 p.m.

Gulf Coast Americana trio The Krickets introduce their 3rd studio album “If You Only Knew” with Gainesville acoustic duo Shiloh. 

Friday, Nov. 21

Phillips Center: Sounds of the Season: Traditions at 7:30 p.m.

The UF School of Music presents a night of holiday music from itstheir concert choir, chamber singers, and symphony orchestra.

The Midnight Underground: Coraline’s Collapse, Right Here Right Now Band, Black Heart Society and You Swine at 7 p.m.

Metal bands gather at this bar for a night of heavy music. 

The Ox: Cult Body, Smink, Cut/Off and Lizard Queen at 8 p.m.

This DIY venue hosts a night of hardcore music with bands from Statesboro, Georgia, to St. Augustine. 

Saturday, Nov. 22

Heartwood Soundstage: Grateful Gainesville Fall Boogie at 1:30 p.m.

Featuring a plethora of bands on both their indoor and outdoor stages, Heartwood Soundstage hosts the Grateful Gainesville Fall Boogie, a “celebration of the music and culture of The Grateful Dead, and the general Jam band vibe.”

The Bull: Johanna Warren and The Housing Crisis at 7 p.m.

Wales-based singer-songwriter Johanna Warren is joined by folk pop band The Housing Crisis. 

Sunday, Nov. 23

The Ox: The Burial Ground, Death Posture, Grave Filth and Bad Future at 8 p.m.

Local band Grave Filth is joined by Ocala natives The Burial Ground and Death posture, as well as Seattle act Bad Future. 

How Bazar: Gainesville Walk of Fame Fundraiser at 7 p.m.

A Sunroom, Faerybehavior, Dogs Can Wear Hats and Dirty Chai gather together to raise money for the creation of the Gainesville Walk of Fame. This event features a Tom Petty lookalike contest.
