Jon Sumrall and Florida are set to suffer a massive loss heading into the transfer portal cycle Jan. 2.

Standout freshman edge rusher Jayden Woods will enter the portal, as first reported by Rivals' Hayes Fawcett.

Woods totaled 28 tackles, 2.5 sacks, five tackles for loss and an interception en route to Freshman All-SEC honors in 2025.

Overall, Woods earned a 72.0 Pro Football Focus grade, including a 73.3 pass rushing grade. He recorded 17 overall pressures, per PFF.

The Shawnee, Kansas, native was a consensus four-star recruit in the 2024 Class, per 247Sports.

Woods marks another massive loss for the Gators ahead of the portal cycle. Other notable portal entrants include quarterback DJ Lagway, wide receiver Eugene Wilson III and defensive backs Sharif Denson and Jordan Castell.

However, Florida has retained some key pieces for the future, including wide receiver Vernell Brown III and linebacker Myles Graham.

Eyes now turn to the fates of running back Jadan Baugh and wide receiver Dallas Wilson, both of whom are yet to announce their intentions for next season.

THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY.
