It's no secret that sophomore guard Liv McGill is the key to Florida women’s basketball’s success.
This season, McGill is the team’s leading scorer, passer and second leading rebounder, all while pacing the team in steals per game.
And McGill showcased her all-around game again Sunday with a dominant performance.
Behind McGill’s 25 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and four steals, Florida (15-11, 3-8 SEC) narrowly defeated Arkansas (11-14, 0-10) 75-69 Sunday in the O’Connell Center.
It marks the first time this season Florida has won two consecutive Southeastern Conference games.
Alongside McGill, sophomore guard Me’Arah O’Neal once again put together a great performance. She finished with 16 points, her fourth-consecutive game scoring 15-plus points. She also grabbed six rebounds and blocked two shots.
Also in the double digits for Florida was freshman center Caterina Piatti. She finished with 10 points on 4-for-6 shooting, posting her fourth 10-plus scoring effort of the season.
Junior guard Laila Reynolds was held in check, only scoring six points. She also picked up four personal fouls.
For Arkansas, junior guard Emily Robinson led the team in both minutes played (39) and points (21). The Razorbacks’ leading scorer this season, senior guard Taleyah Jones, also contributed, scoring 19 points on 6-for-10 shooting.
Overall, the Razorbacks shot a measly 35% from the field and 29% from 3-point range. They also had 19 turnovers.
Florida travels to Norman, Oklahoma, to face the No. 11 Sooners (17-5, 5-4 SEC) on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.
