Salvation the Punk Rock Show Civic Media Center 5:30 PM Free Hosted by Leigh from WGOT 100.1 FM, the CMC hosts its weekly live show.
Open Mic Night The Bull 7:00 PM Free Signups start at 6 PM for the event held every Monday.
Hesam Abedi, Mike Khoury and Chris Cogburn The Hippodrome 7:30 PM $10 The first event of New Horizons, a jazz and adventurous music festival, is called Building Community Through Improvisation, and will host Hesam Abedi, Mike Khoury and Chris Cogburn. Lila Vrindavan will provide an art installation for The Hippodrome's stage.

The Joe Breidenstine Jazz Duo Lightnin' Salvage Enterprises 6:00 PM Free Orlando-based trumpeter Joe Breidenstine began playing at age 10 and has performed internationally.
Jon Jackson Jazz Baby J's Bar 7:00 PM $7 The local jazz collective will play at the bar's weekly Standard Tuesday's event, which is part of the New Horizons festival.
The Pentagram String Band, Yes Ma'am, Little Foot and American Dream Survivors Loosey's Downtown 7:00 PM $12-15 The Pentagram String Band, a satanic bluegrass from Kansas City, is on tour with Yes Ma'am and Little Foot.
Star Funeral, Light Ages, Daydreaming and Crimson The How Bazar 8:00 PM $10 Star Funeral, an emo shoegaze artist from Long Island, is accompanied by local Gainesville bands.
Jazzology The Bull 9:00 PM Free Gainesville’s longest standing weekly jazz night is free to the public and is a part of the New Horizons festival this week.

Teen Open Mic Heartwood Soundstage 6:00 PM Free We Rock Gainesville welcomes musicians and songwriters aged 10 through 17 to perform 10 minute sets with equipment other than personal instruments provided.
Triage Jazz The Bull 6:30 Free The jazz trio performs at the monthly jazz Wednesday event.
Luke Schneider, Mike Bagetta and J.Eel Loosey's Downtown 7:30 PM $12 Day 3 of the New Horizons festival hosts Luke Schneider, a Nashville-based ambient pedal steel artist; Mike Bagetta, a local guitarist and songwriter; and J.Eel, an improvisational duo.
Black Voices Karaoke Baby J's Bar 8:00 PM Free The event is hosted by DJ Alley Star.

1st Annual Solace Sunrise Festival Flavet Field 3:00 PM $7 The event will raise money for Solace, a UF organization dedicated to caring for elderly hospital patients. On the lineup are Freudian Slip, 18th Lane, Icarus on a Sunday, Hey! TV Boy!, Sevenstone, Last Resort and Overtime.
Cassie and Chris Lightnin' Salvage Enterprises 6:00 PM Free Duo Cassie Evans and Chris Lavoie play a mix of classic covers.
Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat Hippodrome Theatre 7:00 PM $10 The New Horizons festival screens the Oscar nominated film about African politics and American jazz.
The Joytraders, Trustfall and Night Mayor Geeks 7:00 PM Free Emo punk band The Joytraders, indie rock group Trustfall and punk noir-core band Night Mayor play the free toy shop show.
The Deslondes with The Lostines Heartwood Soundstage 8:00 PM $25-30 New Orleans based band The Deslondes bring its rootsy blues twang, accompanied by swampland old-school country group The Lostines.
Dionysus with AGPA Baby J's Bar 9:00 PM $12 Local astro-jazz funk fusion band Dionysus plays at the New Horizons event, joined by DJ AGPA.
Bedlam in the Belfry The Atlantic 10:00 PM Free DJs Jett Black and Blonde Ambition spin dark tunes at the 21+ goth night.
Sunday Mar 1
Mud Morganfield and Little Mike and the Tornadoes Heartwood Soundstage 5:00 PM $42-48 The North Central Florida Blues Society presents Mud Morganfield, the son of iconic blues artist Muddy Waters, with his all-star band of Chicago musicians. The event is the second to last performance of the New Horizons Festival.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch The How Bazar 7:30 PM $20 The Mountain Productions nonprofit theater group have the final showing of its debut production, the rock musical sensation "Hedwig and the Angry Inch."
Anthony Trionfo Squitieri Studio Theatre 7:30 PM $12-40 The trailblazing flute player put his fresh and personal spin on classic chamber music.
Makaya McCraven with DJ R.U.S. Heartwood Soundstage 8:00 PM $35-42 The New Horizons festival concludes with a set by prolific drummer, composer and producer Makaya McCraven, with a Sunshine Records DJ set.
Pedro the Lion Gainesville Fine Arts Association 8:00 PM $35-42 The Listening Room presents Pedro the Lion, led by the deeply human lyrics of David Bazan.
