Former UF student convicted of child pornography

Nathan Lewis was arrested in November 2024 at age 20

A previous UF student was found guilty on multiple counts of possession of child pornography, use of a computer to solicit a minor and transmission of harmful material to a minor, according to court records.

Nathan Lewis, now 21, was a UF student when he was arrested in November 2024 at age 20 on charges related to the solicitation and possession of child pornography.

The Gainesville Police Department found Lewis had sent explicit content over Snapchat to minors ranging in age from 13 to 15. In two chats, police also found Lewis had received over 70 images from minors.

Lewis pleaded no contest to 12 counts of possessing child pornography, two counts of using a computer to solicit minors, six counts of transmitting harmful material to minors and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

Lewis was sentenced to three years in state prison and 10 years of probation on Thursday. He will be designated as a sexual offender, and he will not be allowed internet or unsupervised contact with minors in prison, according to court records.
