For a decent portion of the Clemson Invitational, the No. 4 Gators were in the driver's seat. It looked like they would win their fifth out of nine tournaments to conclude the regular season.
However, Round 1 suggested otherwise. No. 15 Vanderbilt had a monster opening campaign with a 275 (-13). The Commodores turned a 180 in Round 2 and went 7-over-par, which led UF to overtake first place.
The Gators continued sitting in the throne for the first few holes of the final round. Then, No. 8 Arkansas emerged, going 8-under-par. It came down to the final few holes, where Abbey Schutte and Swetha Sathish both hit a single bogey each for the Razorbacks.
Ultimately, Florida finished in first with an 847 (-17) and one stroke ahead of Arkansas.
The Florida lineup consisted of Paula Francisco, Siuue Wu, Megan Propeck, Katelyn Huber and Elaine Widjaja. Meanwhile, Addison Klonowski participated in individual play.
Francisco was the best Gator for the third-straight tournament. After setting a record low at the Gators Invitational, the junior sported a 207 (-9), which was good for third place. Despite having two bogeys in the first six holes of the opening round, she eventually rebounded. Her eight birdies and 5-under-par Round 2 were instrumental in UF’s high standing. The Spaniard went bogey free in the final round. To conclude the 2025-26 season, she finished under par in 13 different rounds.
Propeck finished with a 211 (-5). The graduate was consistent, going under par in Rounds 1 and 3 and dead even in Round 2. She also went bogey free in the final round.
Wu ended with a 214 (-2). Even with seven birdies in the final round, the sophomore hit two double bogeys, which brought down her score.
Widjaja started the Clemson Invitational hot, going 4-under-par. However, the sophomore had a combined plus-3 the final two rounds, where she accumulated only two birdies.
Huber had a tough outing, finishing 227 (+11). The freshman and Gainesville native was the only Gator to hit an eagle. Even with that accomplishment, her three double bogeys and 79 (+7) Round 2 proved to be fatal to her overall standing.
Klonowski finished in individual play with a 224 (+8). The sophomore had five birdies, 11 single bogeys and one double bogey in Round 3.
Florida will travel a few hours south to Belleair for the five-day SEC Championship from April 17 to 21. It will be held at Pelican Golf Club, with a start time still to be determined.
