One week and one day after entering her name into the transfer portal, former standout Florida guard Liv McGill has made her decision on where she will be playing going forward.
McGill will now don a new shade of orange next season with Oklahoma State University, as announced in an Instagram post today by the rising junior.
The guard led Florida last year in scoring, averaging 22.6 points per game. With her gone, the Gators will need to find an entirely new backcourt.
Florida’s “Big 3” now consists of just one, rising junior forward Me’Arah O’Neal. O’Neal hasn’t declared for the portal and seems to be remaining with the program. She and rising senior forward Jade Weathersby are the only returners for the 2026-27 season.
However, all is not lost for Florida. New head coach Tammi Reiss signed Butler transfer Mallory Miller, as announced late last night by a Florida spokesperson. The 6-foot-4 rising junior averaged 9.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game last season.
How fast Reiss can bring in new players and connect with them this offseason will be pivotal in determining the Gators’ success in her inaugural season.
