This season, Florida gymnastics clinched its 13th SEC Championship, and its first since 2023. Undoubtedly, the Gators have been a team to be reckoned with, going 20-2 and 6-2 in the SEC. But they had a not-so-secret weapon.

Senior Selena Harris-Miranda, a UCLA transfer, came to Florida before her junior year. Though she was already a decorated gymnast, no one could have expected what awaited her as a Gator.

Harris-Miranda is an 18-time All-American, scoring 10.0s on vault, bars and beam. She leads the Gators with 14 event titles.

She earned the nation-leading all-around score with a 39.85 total against No. 2 Louisiana State March 8. With that, she also earned national gymnast of the week honors and her fifth SEC gymnast of the week honor in her career.

In the first two weeks of this season, she was also named SEC Specialist of the week.

As the team enters the NCAA Tempe Region on Thursday, Harris-Miranda meets every qualification for a top gymnast in the nation.

Florida claimed the top three overall spots, and Harris-Miranda sits comfortably in first with an all-around score of 395.775. Trailing Harris-Miranda is her teammate, senior eMjae Frazier, with a 375.325 all-around score, and in third is Florida’s sophomore Skye Blakley with a 356.175.

Harris-Miranda’s most consistent event throughout the season is the beam, never once dropping below a 9.900 score since January.

Her most inconsistent event, however, has been vault. She carried a strong 9.900 and above all through January and early February, but dropped to score a 9.600 in mid-February. Toward the end of the month she bounced back up to hold a 9.8250 and above in the following four meets before dipping again to a 9.800 at the end of March.

The Las Vegas native is also on the top of Florida's leaderboards in every event. She leads in bars with a high score of 10.000. She is tied for first with DiCello in vault, each with a 9.950 high score. She is also tied for first with Blakely in beam with high scores of 10.000. Finally, there is a three-way tie for first on the floor with high scores of 9.975 with her, Blakely and Frazier.

The No. 3 Gators rank first on bars and beam, sixth on floor and ninth in vault. Their national qualifying score is 197.753.
