Former Gator Micah Handlogten agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal with the Utah Jazz on Thursday, according to multiple reports. His father Ben played for the Jazz from 2003-05.
Handlogten opted to work out privately after not receiving invites to the NBA Combine or G League Elite Camp.
The deal comes after the 7-foot-1 center entered the transfer portal on April 6 following the 2025-26 season, as he awaited a medical hardship waiver for foregoing his redshirt during Florida’s 2025 national championship run.
Last season, serving as one of head coach Todd Golden’s first options off the bench, Handlogten averaged 4.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. He started the campaign with back-to-back double-doubles against Arizona and North Florida.
He started two games last season, the second of which came on Florida’s Senior Day against Mississippi State. Handlogten’s 10 points and nine rebounds helped power the Gators to a 108-74 win.
“Walking out there and just hearing everybody and just that feeling, it meant a lot and something I won't forget," Handlogten said postgame.
The Lake Norman, North Carolina, native’s most productive season with Florida was during the 2023-24 campaign, where he averaged 5.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game across 33 games, 32 of which he started. During this season, he grabbed 108 offensive rebounds, which was the second-highest for a single season in program history at the time. His 17.9% offensive rebound rate was fourth-best in the nation for the 2023-24 season.
However, his season was cut short in the Southeastern Conference Tournament Championship game against Auburn after he fractured his leg.
As a result of the intense recovery from this injury, Handlogten planned on redshirting his junior season, but on Feb. 14, 2025, he decided to return to the Gators, forgoing his redshirt. The move eventually proved fruitful when Handlogten averaged 4.2 rebounds and provided valuable minutes off the bench during the Gators’ championship run.
Before joining Florida, Handlogten spent his first year at Marshall, where he averaged 7.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game across his 32 starts.
After a college career filled with ups and downs, Handlogten will now have the opportunity to prove himself at the professional level.
