In an attempt to rattle the Gators, an at-home crowd will rally behind the Longhorns on Sunday night. No. 12 Texas (9-6, 5-2) is undefeated at home this season and looking to extend its six-game winning streak when it faces No. 7 Florida (14-2, 5-1 SEC).
Texas has sold out 59 straight home matches and led the Southeastern Conference in home attendance in 2025, but it will be no easy venture for the Longhorns.
Charged by a superpowered roster, Florida has proven just how strong it can be. Senior outside hitter Kamryn Chaney is an attestment to that. She is 10th in the SEC in kills (202), averaging 3.74 per set.
Junior opposite hitter Logan King recorded her second double-double of the season and tallied a season-high digs (11) against Texas A&M on Sunday. The Long Beach State transfer is a multifaceted athlete and valuable addition to this season’s roster, ranking in the top-five in kills, assists, service aces, digs and blocks for Florida.
At the baseline, junior setter Taylor Parks has been critical. She ranks eighth in the conference with 23 total service aces. Parks has 574 assists on the season and 1,542 in her career. Against Texas A&M, the Clearwater native logged a career-high in total blocks (six), focusing not only on ball placement for her teammates, but also responding defensively at the net.
However, Texas is a threat and is fresh of a sweep against Auburn on Friday. The Longhorns will be looking to carry that momentum with them into Sunday’s showdown against Florida.
Anchoring their offense is senior outside hitter Torrey Stafford, sitting comfortably at 255 kills on the year. She is third overall in the SEC in kills and fifth in points, averaging 4.64 and 5.05 per set, respectively. Florida will undoubtedly have to keep their eyes on the 6-foot-2 menace.
Texas has already proven that it is more than capable of taking down a titan, beating then-No. 6 Wisconsin 3-1 on Sept. 13, when Texas sat at No. 9. That same contest was backed by 10,294 fans in Austin, marking the second-largest turnout in program history and demonstrating the power of a forceful crowd.
Florida fell to Wisconsin on Sept. 2, marking one of its two losses of the season thus far. If Texas can reciprocate its magic again on Sunday, it could be a bloody battle for the Gators.
