High heels clacked against wet sidewalks as smiling girls rushed to their new houses. The drizzling Florida rain stopped Wednesday evening, allowing the sun to spotlight the new recruits on sorority row during Bid Day. These new members have been rushing since last Wednesday. After three rounds of recruitment and a preferential round, sororities finally revealed which girls were given "bids." During this process, more than 1,700 girls visited each sorority house in hopes of finding their perfect match, feeling out which group of girls they could potentially call sisters.

On Saturday, First Magnitude Brewery and Forage Farm hosted the third annual School's Out Local Food and Music Festival to celebrate the start of the sunniest time of year. Proceeds from the event benefitted Forage Farm, a Gainesville non-profit dedicated to promoting food education.
