Hanging among empty hammocks, Nick Bourdon sways above the Plaza of the Americas on Oct. 26, 2015, during the Hammock Club’s first Plaza Takeover event. The 19-year-old UF finance freshman encouraged students passing by to try out one of the hammocks around him. Bourdon said hammocking creates a networking space to meet new people. “It’s like the Reitz Union, but people just hang around,” he said.
