Julia Galloway torches balls of clay to harden them for her presentation of the Pea handle on Nov. 2, 2015. She taught students the throwing and surfacing pottery techniques that she uses in her studio. She pulled handles for pots she had created earlier in the session. “To get good, just pull a mile of handles,” said Galloway as she stretched a lump of clay with her hands into a flat, even handle under 15 seconds.
