Chefs Anthony Rannazzisi and Jeff "The Heart of the City" Rivers keep up with the high order demand that comes on National Pancake Day on Wednesday afternoon at IHOP. National Pancake Day started in 2006 and works in cooperation with the Children's Miracle Network. Patrons are given a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes and asked to donate to Children's Miracle Network instead. "Hopefully someone will come in, eat some free pancakes and donate to the cause," said Jim Creasman, general manager at the IHOP located at 3625 SW 13th St. The Gainesville location gave away about 1,500 stacks last year and hoped to serve about 1,800 this year.
