Alex Cesar Bonilla, 49, broke into the man’s residence in Bell around 11 a.m. with a black 9 mm handgun, according to a Gilchrist Sheriff’s Office police report. He held the man at gunpoint to tie him up in a bedroom and told him he would kill him if he resisted.

After restraining the man, Bonilla used a pair of scissors to forcefully cut off his penis. Two other people were in the house at the time, including a 4-year-old girl, according to the report.

Bonilla caught the victim having sex with his wife in May, according to the report.

Bonilla left the house and returned to his home across the street with the severed penis, the man told deputies while awaiting emergency medical services. Gilchrist Sheriff’s deputies tracked Bonilla down at his place of employment and arrested him.

Bonilla was charged with burglary, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, cruelty toward a child and displaying a firearm during a felony, a total of six felonies.

He remains in Gilchrist County jail in lieu of a $1.25 million bond. It is not known if he has an attorney.
