UF Student Senate President Kevin Reilly will choose his running mates this week for the Student Government elections on Feb. 26 and 27.

Kevin Reilly, a UF political science senior who is running for Student Body president in the spring SG elections, interviewed 10 candidates to fill the spots for vice president and treasurer on his executive election ticket.

Reilly said he interviewed seven students for the SG vice president position and three students who hope to be treasurer.

"It's really a difficult decision," Reilly said. "The quality of candidates was unparalleled."

He said he and his prospective running mates discussed ways to improve UF students' lives and SG's future role with UF administrators during the interviews.

Since Thursday, he said he chatted with some of the "best and brightest" UF students he has ever met.

"It's probably going to be one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in college," Reilly said of choosing between them.

He added that he doesn't think any previous SG presidential hopeful has interviewed students to choose running mates.
