With the 2026-27 season on the horizon, the Gators have already looked toward its future slew of talent. Ian Condon marked Florida’s first commitment for the 2027 class, making his announcement Tuesday.
Condon is a four-star power forward who sported offers from programs across the country ahead of his announcement to Florida. He is set to graduate from Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., later this year and will make the trip south to Gainesville.
“I decided to commit to Florida because they are a high level program with a winning culture,” Condon said to Rivals. “They are one of the top public universities in the country. They share a lot of similarities with Sidwell and a place where I can compete with the best for a national championship.”
Condon, while no relation to Gators forward Alex Condon, will bring elite size and talent to the roster. He is the No. 77 prospect in the 2027 class and the No. 14 power forward in the country.
The 6-foot-7 prospect received offers from North Carolina State, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame and Boston College, but ultimately landed on committing to Florida.
“I have a great relationship with Coach Golden and Coach Hartman, who have been recruiting me pretty hard and have made it clear how much they want me,” Condon said. “I met everyone on the visit and really connected with the whole staff.”
Condon averaged 20.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in his junior campaign at Sidwell Friends. MaxPreps ranks the program No. 4 in Washington after finishing the 2025-26 season 22-7.
The senior is slated as Florida’s first official commit for the 2027-28 season and will join the Gators’ young talent set to return.
