Good news for TV fans. The writer's strike is looking like there's an end in sight. According to a person familiar with the talks, significant progress has been made and a deal announcement could occur within in the week.

There's no word on whether shows would resume production this late in the season and begin airing new episodes when TV seasons usually end in the summer or if they will just consider this season over.

What this does mean, however, is that the Oscars would go on in its entire, usual splendor.

In celebrity gossip news, Britney Spears is once again in the hospital. She was taken to the University of California, Los Angeles on the recommendation of her psychiatrists. While there, they diagnosed her with bipolar disorder and determined that she will be staying in the hospital for two weeks. After heated argument between Spears' parents and self-proclaimed manager, Osama Lutfi, over who would make her medical decisions, the parents got full legal control over her estate and they got a restraining order against Lutfi to boot. Spears was recently released from the psychiatric ward.

Also in the UCLA psych ward last week was Justin Chambers, who is better known to the masses as Alex Karev from "Grey's Anatomy." He went in voluntarily for a short stay regarding exhaustion and trouble sleeping.

Actress Eva Mendes is also dealing with some personal issues. She checked into a rehab facility this week to battle unnamed substance abuse issues.

Not all celebrities are completely screwed up - as hard to believe as that is. Here is some news on those who haven't been to a hospital recently.

After returning from a trip to Darfur as a United Nations ambassador, George Clooney went to the U.N. headquarters in New York where he was appointed with the Messenger of Peace certificate and dove pin.

And finally, "Sweeney Todd" director, Tim Burton, and star Helena Bonham Carter have named their six-week-old daughter Indiana Rose. They haven't spoken about the baby's name since she was born in December. Supposedly they were expecting a boy, which explains the delay in the naming. But it really makes you wonder what they've been calling her for a month and a half.

That's all for now. I'll have another entertainment update for you next week because Hollywood is the city that never sleeps and the news never stops … for the same reason that all our favorite actors are in rehab.
