UPD arrests UF student in possession of Ecstasy pills

A UF student was arrested Wednesday after police found 153 grams of Ecstasy pills in his Hume Hall dorm room.

Peter George Davis, 18, a UF engineering junior, faces charges of drug trafficking, possession with intent to sell and possession of alcohol by a person under 21, according to a University Police Department report.

Robert Wagner, a UPD spokesman, said the police investigation started around midnight Wednesday when UPD officers said they found Davis to be intoxicated.

Police officers obtained a search warrant for Davis's room in Hume Hall West and reported that they found, among other items, four plastic bags containing Ecstasy pills packaged for sale in a laundry bucket under his bed. Police also found two bottles of alcohol, according to the report.

Davis was taken to the Alachua County Jail at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, jail officials said. He was bailed out at 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

UF spokesman Steve Orlando said Davis is a transfer student from Miami Dade College.

Orlando said there is potential for UF Student Affairs to punish Davis on sanctions up to expulsion because of the felony charges, but he could not say if a UF investigation has been launched.
