From Nashville country singers to a Venezuelan punk rock band, there are a wide variety of musicians to check out this week in Gainesville. See what’s happening around town starting Jan. 26. 

Monday, Jan. 26

Salvation the Punk Rock Show - Civic Media Center | 5:30 p.m. 

Hosted by Leigh from WGOT 100.1 FM, the CMC hosts its weekly live show. 

Open Mic Night - The Bull | 7 p.m. 

Signups start at 6 p.m. for the event held every Monday. 

Resonance Festival Masterclass - UF School of Music | 7:20 p.m.

The second day of the festival hosts a masterclass exploring spiritual arrangements by African American composers with Dr. Louise Toppin.

Carbon Leaf - Heartwood Soundstage | 7:30 p.m.

The Virginia-based indie folk rock group explores Americana, bluegrass, rock, folk, Celtic and pop music. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. 

Tuesday, Jan. 27

The Joe Breidenstine Jazz Duo - Lightnin’ Salvage Enterprises | 6 p.m.

Orlando-based trumpeter Joe Breidenstine began playing at age 10 and has performed internationally. 

The Peer Group - Baby J’s Bar | 7 p.m.

The Florida jazz collective led by Roger Reep will play the bar’s Standard Tuesdays event. 

Resonance Festival Masterclass - UF School of Music | 7:20 p.m.

The third day of the festival hosts a masterclass exploring art songs and arias by African American composers with Dr. Louise Toppin.

Jazzology - The Bull | 9 p.m. 

Gainesville’s longest standing weekly jazz night is free to the public. 

Wednesday, Jan. 28

George Gomez - One Love Cafe | 6 p.m. 

The singer and guitarist from Loose Change and Reel Deelz plays at One Love Cafe. 

Afrofuturism Week: An Evening of Afrofuture Spirituality and Music - Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church | 6 p.m. 

Dr. Louise Toppin and Dr. Joseph Brown discuss teaching gospel and Black church music and highlight contemporary spiritual music by African American composers and performers.

Triage Jazz - The Bull | 6:30 p.m.

The jazz trio performs at the monthly jazz Wednesday event. 

Resonance Festival Recital - UF School of Music | 8:20 p.m.

The final day of the festival presents the Voice Area Recital.

The Killer B’s Band - One Love Cafe | 6 p.m. 

The classic rock duo has been performing in the Gainesville area for over 30 years. 

Olivia Nagy - Lightnin’ Salvage Enterprises | 6 p.m.

The singer-songwriter performs a set of acoustic classic rock and indie folk music.

Caiman Cumbia Club - Depot Village | 7:30 p.m. 

DJ AGPA spins cumbia and salsa tunes at the Caiman Cumbia Club party. 

Indie Demolition Night - Loosey’s Downtown | 8 p.m. 

Indie pop singer/songwriters Katie Dineen, Tori Lucia and Wesli Avidan play the free weekly show. 

Joe Pug and Kyle Keller - The Lynx | 8 p.m. 

The Listening Room hosts the intimate pop-up performance with independent artist and songwriter Joe Pug, accompanied by Kyler Keller. 

Maddy O’Neal - Vivid Music Hall | 9 p.m. 

DJ Maddy O’Neal performs her mix of “dirty funky bass music” on her “Creatures of My Mind Winter Tour.” 

DJ Malibu - Baby J’s Bar | 9 p.m. 

The DJ will play a set of Latin, Caribbean, amapiano and R&B music. 

Kash’d Out and The Quasi Kings - The Wooly | 9 p.m.

Reggae rock bands Kash’d Out and The Quasi Kings play The Wooly. Doors open at 8 p.m. 

Friday, Jan. 30

The Impostors - One Love Cafe | 6 p.m. 

The Gainesville-based band primarily covers The Beatles. 

Cassie and Chris - Lightnin’ Salvage Enterprises | 6 p.m. 

Duo Cassie Evans and Chris Lavoie play a mix of classic covers. 

Junior Recital - UF School of Music | 7:20 p.m.

The UF School of Music presents trombonist Mark Johnson. 

Redferrin, Shaylen and Noah Hunton - Vivid Music Hall | 7:30 p.m.

Country singer-songwriters perform at Vivid Music Hall, led by Nashville's Redferrin. 

The Nancys, Paul’s Ribs and Dumpster - Paul’s Rib Shack | 7:45 p.m.

Indie fusion band Paul’s Ribs hosts the house show with a theme of “cats vs. dogs.” Message @paulsribsband on Instagram for the address. Doors open at 7 p.m. 

Zeta, Lash Meat, Thrush and Gnomes of Neptune - The Ox | 8 p.m.

Venezuelan post-rock band Zeta plays on its “10th Anniversary in the U.S.” tour, accompanied by Lash Meat, Thrush and Gnomes of Neptune. 

The Wave Mechanics - Baby J’s Bar | 8 p.m.

The funk and jazz group plays at Baby J’s Bar. 

Broken Joints, Trash the Rental and Gun Died Laughing - Loosey’s Downtown | 8 p.m. 

Punk rock bands play at Loosey’s Downtown pub. 

Gainesville Underground Indie Rock Night - The Atlantic | 9 p.m. 

Indie rock band Trustfall and music promotion organization Under the Radar present Indie Rock Night. Trustfall is joined by Last Resort, Noforms and Naluna. Doors open at 8 p.m. 

Malibu Nights - The Backyard at Boca Fiesta and Palomino | 9 p.m. 

The weekly 21+ dance night includes Latin, hip hop and Afrobeats music.  

Venezonix and Belloso - The How Bazar | 10 p.m.

The How Bazar presents a night of Afrovenezulean electronic grooves.

Saturday, Jan. 31

Florida Federation of Music Clubs 75th Annual Voice Competition and Concert - First United Methodist Church | 11 a.m. 

The competition will be held at 11 a.m. and is followed by a concert at 1:30 p.m. with the 2025 first place winners returning to perform. 

Raftus Brown - One Love Cafe | 12 p.m.

The frontman of Raftus Brown and the Melrose Horns will play solo for Saturday brunch.

Falllift - Lightnin’ Salvage Enterprises | 6 p.m. 

North Carolina-based indie folk duo Falllifet merges heartfelt lyrics and haunting harmonies.

Raftus Brown and the Melrose Horns - One Love Cafe | 6 p.m. 

The group that classifies themselves as “The Kings of Dad Rock” will play at One Love Cafe. 

Blowgun, Vee and A. Sunroom - Nightjar | 7 p.m.

New Orleans-based diaspora punk group Blowgun are joined by Vee and A. Sunroom. The event is followed by an old time jam. 

The International Noise Conference 2026 Gainesville Pre-show - The Ox | 7 p.m.

The Action Research event features 15 minute back-to-back sets from 16 artists, including Bob Hatt, Brace Position and Frog.  

Faculty Concert #3 - UF School of Music | 7:20 p.m. 

The UF School of Music presents the Spectrum 101 Faculty Concert #3. 

Kung Fu Panda - Baby J’s Bar | 9 p.m. 

The DJ will perform his all vinyl set. 

Pop Punk & Emo Night - Vivid Music Hall

Gainesville’s first Pop Punk & Emo Night of 2026 will feature hits from artists like Paramore and My Chemical Romance. 

Sunday, Feb. 1

Chemical-X, Future Forms, Makeup Remover and Orca - The Ox | 8 p.m. 

New Jersey-based punk band Chemical-X plays the Respite Events show, joined by Future Forms, Makeup Remover and Orca.
