Gainesville Police arrested three men in connection with a string of car robberies that occurred across Gainesville.
At least three cars were stolen and at least two were burglarized in the Blues Creek and Westchester neighborhoods, according to a Gainesville Police arrest report. One suspect was found with three sets of car keys on him at the time of arrest.
On March 6, police arrested Ajavior Young, 18, during a car theft investigation. During an interview, he told police that Henry Scott, 18, and Tuyen Baker, 18, were also involved in the robberies, according to multiple arrest reports. All of the men are from Gainesville.
Scott was arrested two days later and told police he and the men were responsible for the burglaries, the report said.
On the same day, Baker told police he was involved in the robbery spree, according to a report.
Young was also arrested in connection to five other car incidents. The vehicle burglary spree began Feb. 10. Young was found in possession of three sets of car keys at the time of arrest, a report said.
On Feb. 10, two residents reported their cars had been broken into. After he was read his Miranda rights, Young confessed to his involvement with the burglaries.
Young was charged with three counts of burglary, one count of grand theft, four counts of grand theft auto, one count of resisting arrest and one count of driving without a valid license. He remains in the Alachua County Jail in lieu of a $33,000 bond.
Scott was charged with three counts of burglary, one count grand theft auto and one count of grand theft. He remains in the Alachua County Jail with a bond of $50,000.
Baker was charged with two counts of burglary to unoccupied conveyance. He was released on his own recognizance Monday.
