If traveling to Tampa is not in your itinerary for the Memorial Day weekend, you’re in luck: You can still bust out your flower crown for the Follow the Sun music festival, coming to Gainesville on May 24.

The itinerant festival is quite literally traveling from Florida’s east coast to its west coast this weekend. More than 40 bands will be playing on its three stages. Some will play on Friday in St. Augustine, some in Gainesville on Saturday and some in Cedar Key on Sunday.

Festival founders Mike Collins and Jon Reinertsen created Follow the Sun to highlight the state’s musicians. Additionally, these members of Gainesville band Whiskey & Co. also wanted to honor their home state with a festival format that puts the Florida landscape front and center.

Tickets start at $15 for Friday, $20 for Saturday or $30 for all three days. Sunday shows in Cedar Key are included in any ticket purchase.

The Backyard at Boca Fiesta, Loosey’s and The Atlantic will each host some of the Gainesville shows.
