CORRECTION
Oct. 6, 2009It was reported in the Sept. 29 edition of the Alligator that Joseph McCabe was a UF student senator. While he still officially held his seat until Tuesday night, when his term ended, McCabe withdrew from the university on Sept. 14, according to the Office of the University Registrar. The registrar's office initially provided incorrect information, listing McCabe as an enrolled student, but confirmed Tuesday he had withdrawn.

However, since when do we passively allow blatant hatred and bigotry to go unchecked? Though I don't typically lecture people on the absolutes of "right" and "wrong," this is definitely an instance in our lives where we need to take a step back and say, "Damn it, that is wrong!"
