Entering Saturday's duel between UF and Miami, the prevailing logic was that redshirt freshman quarterback Robert Marve and freshman Jacory Harris would wilt under the bright lights of Florida Field.
As if the Barack Obama train didn't have enough momentum, local supporters decided to hold an event to garner more support for the inescapable media darling. They even gave it a clever moniker: Obama-rama.
Want to stop ticket scalping?
Gators junior defensive end Jermaine Cunningham was named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Lineman of the week Monday after the Gators' defeated Miami by a 26-3 margin Saturday night.
I entered UF in 1998 with 26 Advanced Placement and 11 dual enrollment credits. Everybody said how great that was and how quickly I could get through school. I, like many of you, did not need study skills to get A's in high school.
When the lights brightened, the shadows of surprise evaporated.
Urban Meyer seems to have figured out a sure-fire way to win games at Florida: block a punt.

This time, Aaron Hernandez was ready.
Hill in the third quarter of the Gators' 26-3 win against Miami in Ben
Tim Tebow teetered back and forth on his feet for a moment and let out an "Ummm."
It wasn't the first time that "SEC" chants rained down onto Florida Field. But this time there was something different about them.
The Hurricanes are driving and are up to UF's 25-yard line, but UF's run defense has actually done a pretty decent job so far. Quarterback Robert Marve has made a couple of gutsy runs, including one on 4th-and-5 when he got eight yards. But Graig Cooper hasn't broken free for a big one yet, so maybe the Gators d-line was right when they said they were better. Still, one more first down and Miami is all but guaranteed at leat a 7-3 game.
Give an assist to the refs on this one. On 3rd and 9 Tim Tebow launched a ball to the right sideline, which Carl Moore caught, but it was initially ruled an incompletion. Then the call was overtuned, and the Gators had the ball on the Hurricanes 5 yard line. After a Tebow incompletion and a Kestahn Moore run for no gain, Tebow threw a ball to Percy Harvin in the endzone and got an interference call. With three shots to get just two yards, the Gators finally scored on 3rd down as Tebow optioned to Harvin and he strutted into the endzone.
There's the Louis Murphy who smack talked last weekend. Murphy finally woke up and just hauled in a 19-yard touchdown after making another big catch the play before. The Gators sleeping offense has finally started to stir, and the Hurricanes offense pretty much has to get on the scoreboard some how this drive if they want to come back in this one.
Welcome back, Aaron Hernandez. After a 14-yard shanked punt by Miami, the Gators capitalized with a five-play drive that ended with UF's sophomore tight end catching a Tim Tebow pass in the endzone. Hernandez missed the season opener for undisclosed reasons. Tebow looked like he was about to get sacked, but Tebow being Tebow, he got away from the 'Canes linemen and lofted one a few yards deep in the endzone to an open Hernandez.
It was from 50 yards, but Matt Bosher nailed it. Miami grinded out a 16-play drive in 8:42 and only got a long field goal, but they're on the board. Some gutsy plays by the Hurricanes, but UF's defense actually looked pretty solid. Especially when compared to last year
Brandon Spikes just jumped in the air and chest bumped Dustin Doe, and he came down without a limp. So it looks like UF's defensive leader is looking good to go. As for Percy Harvin, he looks even better. He rean several pregame routes and looked like typical Percy.
After a penalty that made Miami punt from inside their own endzone, UF freshman running back Jeff Demps dashed through the blockers and get to the Miami punter easily and blocked it. A group of Gators almost got to it, but the ball was just out of bounds by the time they had possession.
