Board vote saves Machen money

Although student voters rejected a proposed Reitz Union student fee, some student leaders are still working to form a more perfect union. In a meeting of the UF’s Board of Trustees Committee on Educational Policy and Strategy on Monday, UF Student Body President Jordan Johnson said Student Government is seeking alternative sources of funding for renovating the aging student center.

Student shooting raises concerns

We, as a community, are saddened by the recent events in which a geography Ph.D. student, Kofi Adu-Brempong was shot by a University Police Department officer. It appears this situation did not warrant the use of deadly force and that UPD allowed the situation to escalate out of control. Our questions seem to be falling on deaf ears.
