I disagree with Fuchs’ decision to reject Richard Spencer

UF’s decision to ban Richard Spencer and his National Policy Institute from speaking on campus is a grave mistake, and one the university will come to regret. In a statement released last week, UF President Kent Fuchs defended his decision because of safety concerns. While the safety of those on campus is obviously a legitimate concern, so is the concern of free speech, which has now been shunned as a result of this decision.

DJ Duo Dusty Bits to perform at Back To School Bash event

Lucid Nightlife, an electronic music events company based in Gainesville, is hosting its third edition of their Back To School Bash concert Thursday at Simon’s Nightclub, located at 8 S. Main St. The biannual event is held during the first week of each semester, and has been consistently growing since its inception in August 2016.

2017 Florida Gators Position Previews: Running Backs

About two weeks remain until Florida football kicks off the 2017 regular season against Michigan at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Gators enter this year as back-to-back SEC East champions, notching 13 conference wins under coach Jim McElwain since he took over the program in 2015. As always, UF’s success on the gridiron this fall will largely depend on its roster, a group of players featuring both seasoned veterans and unestablished newcomers.
