UF law students learned from the former leader of the American Civil Liberties Union how they could get involved with the organization in protecting civil rights, even if they haven't graduated.

County to vote on three referenda, state amendments

Aside from this election's open votes for the executive, legislative and judicial branches, six state amendments and three county referenda will be decided by Alachua County voters. Proposed amendments require 60 percent of voter support before being approved.

Senate meeting amends stance on Amendment 2

In a special meeting Thursday, student senators approved a resolution that urges UF students to consider the "severe negative consequences" of Amendment 2, which defines marriage as a legal union between a man and woman and could affect UF's benefits for employees with domestic partnerships.
