Santa Fe Senate allots funds

During a Senate meeting Wednesday night, Santa Fe College Student Senate approved and reinstated several senators and learned the outcome of a resolution about skateboarding on campus.

Editorial: Arrest of student part of a worrying trend

Wednesday, global news outlets and social media feeds were inundated with the plight of Ahmed Mohamed, a 14-year-old boy from Irving, Texas. Mohamed, a Muslim, was arrested, handcuffed and removed from MacArthur High School by police officers after he brought in a clock he made to show his engineering teacher. Another teacher, who asked to see what Mohamed had in his backpack after hearing the clock beep in class, interpreted the wire-laden device to be a threat. The teacher reported Mohamed to school officials, after which the arrest occurred.

Do athletics and academics compete? Not at UF

Some of my Ivy League friends ask how I am adjusting to the National Collegiate Athletic Association, or NCAA, as president. Their perception is if a university has a highly ranked athletic program, it must be due to misplaced priorities, and it must come at a cost to academic stature.
