Have you ever wondered why people from certain regions of the world share a similar outlook on time? If you’re like me and love to hang out with people from different cultures, you know it’s very helpful to understand their perspective on time. More importantly, if you’re planning to enter the business world in the future, 3 minutes could mean anything from “I’m sorry for being late” to “I lost my job.”
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past season, you’ve likely noticed an influx of overalls, tube socks, bucket hats, Keds and all things ‘90s amongst your fashion-forward friends.
It’s a cruel irony that Summer, the season of swim suits and short-shorts, is also the season of endless ice cream sundaes, barbecues and a plethora of other unhealthy food choices. I have a major sweet tooth, and once I start, I usually can’t stop. A small scoop of vanilla quickly turns into a triple chocolate brownie sundae with hot fudge and extra whip cream. Since I’ve been trying my hardest to make healthier choices recently, I thought I’d share some of my favorite healthier alternatives to our classic summer favorites. These are super quick, easy, and only require a few ingredients, so (unfortunately) we no longer have an excuse to conveniently call up Dominos.
We all dread the words, “We need to talk.” It’s the universal code for, “Hey this just really isn’t working out, maybe it’s better off if we’re friends.” Unfortunately, break ups are a part of life and sometimes we wait too long to have the conversation. We’ll search for that right time to do it, or wait our partner messes up so our reasoning is even better. The reality is though; it’s never going to get easier. You just have to recognize when it’s time to call it quits, and do it.
I first heard about Gigi’s Cupcakes by word of mouth. I was still in high school, living in St. Petersburg at the time, when the sales clerk in a store in Tampa was raving about the cupcake store up the road. Curious, my mom and I tried it, and we fell head over heels in love with their cupcakes.
Walking down cobbled streets next to red-brick houses covered in ivy and German restaurants offering the best sausage, it would be easy to assume you were in a village somewhere in Germany or an English suburb.
It has been an exciting first week of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. There have been upsets, last minute goals, and stellar individual performances. Here are my thoughts and recap of World Cup action from June 12 to June 20.
Today’s best basketball players are small forwards, which is currently a very top heavy position in the NBA.
Have you ever considered the effect social media has on you? Can you go one day without checking your Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter accounts? Almost everyone I know, including myself, has one of these applications on their smartphones. We want people to know all about our lives (the good, filtered parts of course) and "like" it.
Traveling across the world can go one of two ways: carefree or painful. Here are some of my own tried and true tips to taking off and landing with ease, leaving no disaster short of terrible jet lag left to chance.

Sometimes it seems every movie in theaters is a sequel, remake, reboot or book adaptation. Just recently, Hollywood’s remade “Robocop”, “Godzilla”, “Spider-Man,” and “Planet of the Apes.” DreamWorks is planning a “Shrek 5” because “his story isn’t done yet.” Book adaptations in the works include “Paper Towns” and “The Maze Runner” as well as the next two “Hunger Games” movies.
I’ll readily admit that I look forward to the Oscars and the Emmys way more than the Super Bowl. Awards shows are a strange breed. We watch wealthy people cry when given an award by other wealthy people- and we LOVE it.
