Game Over: Obamacare woes aren’t just a fumble

For the first time since 2007, non-economic issues are dominating the top two spots in the Gallup poll’s rankings of America’s most important problems. Dissatisfaction with the government in general remains at No. 1 this month, while Americans’ concerns over high health care costs and poor health care jumped from No. 4 last month to No. 2 this month. It comes as no surprise since the Affordable Care Act has been plagued from the start by convolution, lack of transparency, poor planning and lack of accountability on the president’s part — until this past week.

Many of us are aware of the ever-so-famous low-carb diet… but, like the amount of calories in a Starbucks white chocolate mocha, we refuse to acknowledge its existence. Your creamy Phineas and Ferb mac n’ cheese is just too convenient. Leo’s garlic rolls are just too satisfying. And, come on, what’s game day without Bud?

TV influences girls to join STEM fields, but still not enough

I’m not going to lie and say that as a kid, watching “CSI” didn’t lead me to seriously consider a career in crime scene investigation. Marathons of the serial crime drama led me to believe that life in the field would be all about examining dead bodies and using pH strips to divulge the murder weapon. Does this even make sense?
