The third time against Brian Johnson proved to be the charm for South Carolina.
After losing to South Carolina in the College World Series final last June, Florida has had the two-time defending national champions’ number this season.
Whether the Gators win or lose this year’s College World Series, Brian Johnson will always be remembered in Omaha. After an apparent Johnson home run was called a ground-rule double in Florida’s 8-4 win against Texas last season, instant replay has been implemented for the 2012 College World Series.

As the Gators head to Des Moines, Iowa to wrap up their season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, jumper Ciarra Brewer will be wrapping up her first season with a new coach. Despite the transition in coaches, the freshman had a strong year.
Mike Zunino was happy to lead off the top of the fourth inning. After a testy latter half of the third, the junior catcher wanted to give the Gators an emotional edge.
As the Gators continued to drop in the leaderboard at the NCAA Championships, junior Tyler McCumber finished strong. McCumber was able to card a solid 72 (+1) on Thursday to wrap up the season with a second place finish.

Needing just three outs to advance to the Southeastern Conference Tournament final, Gators closer Austin Maddox took the mound.
