ESPN, SEC agree to huge 15-year contract

Hornsby enrolls at EMCC
Aug. 19, 2008According to the Miami Herald former UF safety Jamar Hornsby has enrolled at East Mississippi Community College where he will play football this season. He will be eligible to transfer to another FBS school next year. Hornsby was kicked off the team earlier this summer after it was discovered that he made nearly $3,000 worth of charges to the credit card of deceased UF student Ashley Slonina. Hornsby was originally arrested on a felony charge. According to Alachua County court records, the charges were reduced Wednesday to four misdemeanor counts of unauthorized use of a credit card.

Court Documents: Ingram being sued for rent
Aug. 11, 2008UF tight end Cornelius Ingram is being sued for less than $1,065 for back rent by Paradigm Properties, according to Alachua County civil court records. Ingram has failed to pay rent due since before July 7, according to the document. Ingram recently had successful surgery on his torn left ACL.
The receivers take another hit: Murphy out with sprained ankle
Aug. 10, 2008UF has already lost tight end Cornelius Ingram for the season and receiver Percy Harvin still hasn't fully practiced, and now No. 2 receiver Louis Murphy is out with a sprained ankle. Coach Urban Meyer said he doesn't "think it's that serious" and Murphy should be back later this week. However, still not a good sign. For those keeping track at home, that probably leaves Deonte Thompson has the Gators top receiver right now.
Torres leads Americans to silver medal
Aug. 9, 2008Forty-one-year-old Dara Torres was the anchor on the U.S. team that won the 400-freestyle relay Saturday night, leading them to a silver medal. The former Gator might have been able to catch the Netherlands team if there were just 50 to 100 more meters in the race, but the Dutch were too far ahead when she started her leg.
