Due to the recent closing of the post office in downtown Gainesville, the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office has changed its mailing address.

Mail will now be sent to 111 SE First Ave., the current location of the Supervisor of Elections Office.

Previously, all mail addressed to the supervisor of elections was sent to a mailbox in the post office downtown.

The post office box was used because it was a permanent address that could be put on all supervisor of elections printed materials sent to voters, said Pam Carpenter, supervisor of elections.

"When the post office downtown closed, we re-evaluated that situation and thought the best and easiest thing was to just have our mail sent directly to our office," Carpenter said.

Registered voters may change their information online at elections.alachua.fl.us. If a document requires the voter's signature, it can be printed and sent to the new mailing address or dropped in the mail drop box located in the office's front door.
