Zack Borer’s music career began with gigs in Gainesville. Now he has a gig with Google.
Borer graduated UF with a business degree in 2004. His song “That’s the Way” is preloaded on Google’s Nexus One, the latest Android smartphone.
Borer’s management team said his song is one of 13 preloaded on the phone.
The phone became available Jan. 5. Owners of the Google Nexus One can click on “Music,” find Borer’s name and play his song.
He has been compared to artists like Kings of Leon and the Dave Matthews Band.
Borer said he is a traditional singer and songwriter.
“I’m always writing and coming up with new ideas,” he said.
He’s also a proud Gators fan.
“Gainesville is where I credit my start,” Borer said. “My two favorite things are my music and the Gators.”
