A UF student died Sunday after her second heart transplant failed.
Shara Himmel, a UF sophomore from St. Petersburg, received her first transplant at 4 years old, according to a Monday report from the St. Petersburg Times.
Himmel received her second transplant in May and checked into a Gainesville hospital Friday, the report stated.
A graveside service for Himmel will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Largo.
A Facebook group called "Shara, We Will Always Love You," states that Himmel's mother suggested friends make donations in her daughter's memory.
The places her mother suggested are the Pinellas County Jewish Day School, the Kent Center Camp Scholarship Fund, the United Synagogue Youth at Congregation B'nai Israel and the Children's Heart Foundation.
"Her life was a blessing to everyone who knew her, and her death affects us profoundly," states the group's description.
"Her laughter and courage will forever inspire us and give us strength," the description stated.
