Well folks, it looks like Student Body President Ryan Moseley's Student Government administration is on track to let us down again. I am writing about the task force which will review UF's event management and the University Police Department's practices.
The student members for the task force appear to be nothing more than yes-men. The Moseley administration has continually said the average student, not SG, would control the direction of the task force. Yet somehow at least three of the four student members are SG politicos. So much for fair and equal representation.
What about on-campus students having a voice? Any committee that has the ability to change UPD's policy should include student housing's interest. About 7,600 students live on campus, and UPD is responsible for their safety after classes end and the crowds leave - yet not a single student member lives in on-campus housing.
The list of failures goes on. The administration has failed us once again. President Moseley has failed us. SG has failed us.
