Planning on getting wasted in Jacksonville this weekend for the Florida-Georgia football game?

If you answered yes, this is for you.

If you party too heartily at The Jacksonville Landing, you'll be able to hang out in one of three Sideline Student Safety Zones. The best part? No legal ramifications!

We're glad our university isn't in denial about students drinking, regardless of their age.

And it's nice to know that if your friend - or you - has a few too many of those drinks that are served in a fishbowl, you'll have a place to charge your cell phone, catch a cab or just drink something without alcohol in it.

Of course, students shouldn't depend on the zones or drink to the point of blacking out because they know the zones are there.

Last year, UF, the University of Georgia and the city of Jacksonville partnered to provide two zones for the intoxicated, with the aim of reducing accidents and violence.

We hope students who drink themselves into oblivion take advantage of the safety zones, and we hope everyone stays safe this weekend.
