In conjunction with World Rabies Day, No More Homeless Pets is offering free rabies vaccinations to the public.

Pet owners are eligible for a free vaccination today and Tuesday if their cats or dogs are getting spayed or neutered.

"In order to be eligible, cats and dogs must be over 12 weeks old, and dogs must be under 40 pounds. Otherwise, all are welcome," said Jessica M. Torrence, clinic operations manager. "We cater to all breeds, and we are happy to work with feral cats, stray cats and dogs."

Dogs or cats that are still in heat or pregnant are also eligible for the services at no additional cost, Torrence said.

Pet owners need to make an appointment to ensure they are eligible to receive the service, because a large turnout is expected on both days.

Owners must book an appointment by calling 352-376-6647.
