In an article Tuesday, it was reported that Shands and UF decided to build a Hospital for Women and Children after receiving the results of a needs assessment done in in conjunction with the Ferrero Foundation. The plans were already in effect before the assessment took place.
UF and Shands are heading the creation of the new hospital, and the Ferrero Foundation is committed to funding a new pediatric emergency wing.
