Columnist has misguided views

I can’t believe Bryan Griffin actually compared Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell to Elizabeth I.

Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina I get — after all, their net worth is probably close to that of Elizabeth’s.

But it’s quite a leap for the others.

Drama and exploration flourished under Elizabeth I.

Sarah Palin, Angle, Whitman and O’Donnell want to cut or defund the National Education Association, and the only exploration likely to occur if they are elected will happen off the east coast and at the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

If these are the women leading the Republican Party — billionaires and beauty queens — I fear for the party’s future and for that of women.
