Where are all the caring Independent candidates? During the past few days I have seen a lot of blue and nothing else. I ask myself, why would candidates for the Student Senate not be campaigning to win their seats?

Could the reason possibly be that they have no record to run on, or perhaps they are ashamed of their fellow candidates in the Independent Coalition? Though I spent most of the past few days dodging the army of Unite volunteers across campus, I relented Monday when one walked me to class with an umbrella. I was genuinely surprised by the sincerity of the volunteer’s excitement regarding the election and the true passion evident in his voice.

I was won over. I plan on voting Unite today because I like students who campaign on what they can do for me, rather than being preoccupied with attacking their opponents.
