Over the past couple of weeks I have gotten to know Bryan Griffin as a person and a friend. I know he would never intentionally plagiarize. He’s passionate person about his beliefs. I’m sure this was nothing more than him admiring an article and trying to get the message to others. All it would’ve taken was a citation I’m sure was subordinately overlooked due to the pressure of balancing activities and schoolwork with the column.

“Don’t judge a book by its cover” rings true; People are focused on the negative aspect, so no one will ever see the positives he brings into this world and campus. He is the president of the only non-hazing, non-sectarian, non-secret fraternity, a law student, and the list of his achievements goes on.  Normally I wouldn’t defend someone like this, but I have faced similar criticism when people didn’t know my character and judged me harshly on one foolish mistake. I won’t let a minor mistake ruin a commendable individual’s reputation. It’s easy to judge quickly when you don’t know the good in someone’s heart.
