It’s time to stop pretending to be “independent.” What a surprise the Editorial Board endorses Kendrick Meek and Alex Sink for senator and governor respectively.
This is the Meek who lobbied for millions of taxpayer dollars for his Boston developer buddy Dennis Stackhouse while Stackhouse gave his mother an Escalade and free rent and was later arrested for stealing investment money. This is the Meek who worked for Wackenhut Corp. while it was committing fraud against Miami-Dade County and while he was a state legislator. This is the Meek who is called “either clueless or worse.”
Sink’s endorsement is legitimate, and the argument was fair, although Sink was on the state board that was cited in an outside audit as “lacking oversight” and “allowing” risky investments that lost billions of dollars.
But don’t insult our intelligence with claims like Kendrick Meek is someone who “speaks up for what’s right.”
